Our Church remains open for worship each Sunday at 10:15am
Things are different:
numbers are limited to around 30 to maintain a social distance
services are shorter
we have to wear face masks
and most frustrating of all, we still can’t sing!
So far nearly 50 people have attended one or more services and several more have appreciated receiving the
service details and sharing from home. For those with internet access there is also a service at 6pm each Sunday via Zoom.
If you are not already receiving the details each week but would like to do so, please let us know via
the contact page and you will then be added to the weekly email list.
Further details can be found in the November Newsletter
Mary Squires takes the bookings for Sunday morning services. Our maximum attendance is limited to around 30 and although numbers have fluctuated, so far we haven’t had to turn anyone away. However we are close to capacity so please let Mary know (either directly by phone, by email or via the contact page) if you would like to start coming or if you have been coming but won’t be there on a particular week. We aim to contact you each week by email or phone to confirm your place. The service on 8th November will be the Remembrance Day service led this year by Dave Sutcliffe.
To allow for the 2 minute silence at 11am the service that week will start at the slightly later time of 10:30am.
Please read the following guidelines before attending the church for a service.
Glenfield Methodist Church - Covid-19 Guidelines
Am I well? - You must stay at home if you feel unwell or have any symptoms of Covid-19.
Arrival - Entrance to church is now through the vestry door. Please check in with the steward on duty outside and be prepared to queue in order to keep a safe 2 metre distance.
Face coverings — In order to minimise the risk of spreading infection, you will need to wear a face covering. Please bring a face covering with you — wearing one is an expression of love for others, and may help others to feel safer coming to church.
Inside the building - Please keep 2m apart from those not in your household and only sit on the designated seats. There will be a steward on duty to guide you to your seat.
Toilets - Only the toilet in the vestry is available to us. If you need the toilet please ask the steward on duty.
The Service - The shorter service will be a mix of prayers, Bible readings, music (we are unable to sing) and a message. Bible readings and song words will be on the screen but bibles and hymn books will not be available. You may wish to bring your own Bible and/or hymn book with you.
Afterwards - We are unable to serve refreshments. Please remember to take all your belongings with you as you go and leave via the vestry door. Government guidance is to leave promptly and to limit interaction with anyone not in your household in order to minimise risk.

We have planned carefully to keep you safe and to comply with Government and Methodist guidelines. Stewards will be on hand to direct you.
Please be patient with us and bear with one another in love!
