Re-opening of the Church for Worship
The church is now able to meet for a short time of worship on Sunday mornings. However we do need to conform to the restrictions imposed by Government and Methodist guidelines also by the building work currently in progress, in order to minimise risks.
Some of you may still feel that you are not ready to return to church yet and we understand and respect your decision. In order to maintain safe distancing, numbers will have to be restricted so we may need to introduce a booking system or make attendance by invitation only.
To establish who will or will not want to come we are compiling lists of those who are interested and those who will not be coming.
Please read the following guidelines and if you would like to join us contact Mary Squires by phone, by email or by using the contact page.
Glenfield Methodist Church - Covid-19 Guidelines
Am I well? - You must stay at home if you feel unwell or have any symptoms of Covid-19.
Arrival - Entrance to church is now through the vestry door. Please check in with the steward on duty outside and be prepared to queue in order to keep a safe 2 metre distance.
Face coverings — In order to minimise the risk of spreading infection, you will need to wear a face covering. Please bring a face covering with you — wearing one is an expression of love for others, and may help others to feel safer coming to church.
Inside the building - Please keep 2m apart from those not in your household and only sit on the designated seats. There will be a steward on duty to guide you to your seat.
Toilets - Only the toilet in the vestry is available to us. If you need the toilet please ask the steward on duty.
The Service - The shorter service will be a mix of prayers, Bible readings, music (we are unable to sing) and a message. Bible readings and song words will be on the screen but bibles and hymn books will not be available. You may wish to bring your own Bible and/or hymn book with you.
Afterwards - We are unable to serve refreshments. Please remember to take all your belongings with you as you go and leave via the vestry door. Government guidance is to leave promptly and to limit interaction with anyone not in your household in order to minimise risk.
We have planned carefully to keep you safe and to comply with Government and Methodist guidelines. Stewards will be on hand to direct you.
Please be patient with us and bear with one another in love!
