Charitable donations: In January, our charity of the month was Menphys, which is a local Charity that provides a range of specialist services to support children and young adults with additional needs and disabilities, and their families. The new headquarters in South Wigston offers a range of services and facilities such as a Sensory Room, a Library and Coffee Shop. It has been supporting families across Leicestershire for 50 years, striving to give young people equal choices & equal opportunities to allow them to live ordinary lives.
In February, our charity of the month is Falcon Support Services. Based in Loughborough, it works throughout the county with the homeless, vulnerably-housed and the marginalised in our community.
Our charity for March was 'Mission in Britain' which forms an essential part of the 'One Mission of the Methodist Church in Britain'. We raised a pleasing amount of £200, including gift aid, thank you all for your generosity.
Our charity for April, which includes the Easter offering, is the 'World Mission Fund' (WMF), which provides grants to support our partner churches around the world to take part in mission projects and initiatives. Those countries/continents involved include: Africa; Asia; Pacific; North America; South America; Caribbean; Central America and Europe.
Please donate If you would like to donate to any of our charities of the month, please put your cheque payable to ‘Glenfield Methodist Church’, or cash, either in an envelope marked ‘(month) charity’ (with your name and address on if you can gift-aid it) or use the charity envelopes provided at church. Then either leave your envelope in the collection box at church, post or bring it round to 8 Faire Road, Glenfield, LE3 8EA. Alternatively, why not contact Geoff to get the church bank details to make either a donation, or even a standing order for each charity of the month? Thank you once again for your generous support to our charity of the month scheme.
